Day 10: Het Goed & Ikea!

Saturday! haha! Finally, one free day to explore the city! and since Yuting replied super fast with the address for the second hand shop, i decided to go down to that before heading down to Ikea.
The shop is at 2, Meerenakkerweg on google maps, and if you are moving into Eindhoven and looking for furnitures, it's a must-visit place! You can also get second-had winter clothes and utensils, toys and such. And so, i set out after a breakfast of curry noodles again.
I saw this super big AH on the way!

Finally, after going round and round, I reached the place:

I wen tin and bought a knife, towel for wiping my kitchen, dutch-eng translation book and a plate to put candles on! After that, I made my way back on my bike. I had brought my big blue bag there, expecting to buy a lot of stuff. I found a sleeping bag there but it wasn't for low temp :( On my way back, I saw that I was pretty close to the Evoluon and decided to drop by that area!

I met a guy from Eindhoven on the way and he helped me take these photos! And he loves the food in Indonesia and Thailand! hahah!

Anyway, I came back home with my back nearly empty. I transferred to the small black bag and walked down to the station to take a bus down to Ikea since it is slightly out of Eindhoven. I checked out the MediaMarkt (that's the way it's spelled) which turned out to be filled with TVs, Players, cables, cameras and stuff. Pretty standard price, but i don't need any of those :( I later found this market nearby: spot me in the pic!

haha! i'm in the mirror! nice right!

Later I went down to the helpdesk to ask for the bus number to Ikea. Steph's blog said bus 9 goes there, but I wasn't sure where to alight. The person suggested bus 11 instead and told me where to alight!

The bus station was high-tech! the bus just come in and the display above shows the bus number and the places it goes to:

and after ~20 mins, I got to Ikea!

It tok me 10 mins to find the right entrance though.. And this is my my Ikea Ice-cream!!

And you can go for refills too! I paid 0.50 euro for the cone and I'd to fill it up myself using a machine :D

And see how big the place is! It took me hours to explore!

Finally, I bought a set of hangers ( no more clothes lying on the floor!), a stand to dry my utensils (no more staking of plates on the stove!), a cushion (cos it was cheap: 0.99 euro!), and a set of candles (they were cheap too, at 1euro!). And I put in all thos in this big IKEA bag that seemed to be everywhere in the store! I was devastated when the cashier told me that I can't bring the bag home!! (I managed to smuggle a IKEA pencil home though..) Anyway.. There were no plastic bags around too! oh boy! I somehow managed to squeeze the cushion and candles into my bag which already had my lunch box! And then I found out that IKEA provides wrapping paper, sting and sticky tapeee!!! yay!! so, I wrapped my stuff:

The lady behind was amazed at the 'bag' that I made out of the utensil stand! hahah! And I made my way back home. On the bus, I found out that Saba had called me after I received another call! I was supposed to meet the rest at 2 to decide on the holiday plans! We were having a holiday for the chinese new year week! So, I told them to go ahead and book the tics for me :) Johnny said they thought I fainted! Cos I left my lights on, and bike outside! I'll keep sb informed of where I'm going to next time round...

Back in FC's place, holiday planning was on full swing:

Azri and I wanted to go see the northern light later on too!

And back home, my laundry was drying on the heater:

And my woolen socks will spoil if I place them directly on the heater, so:

I came back home early, at abt 9pm to cook dinner and sleep! The dinner was the usual thing though:milk, tamarind rice with broccoli, capsicum and carrots, apple and yoghurt!
