Below was the time when i reached the PSA building and turned into Alexandra road. At i passed by that bus stop in the pic, the winds started to pick up and as i was on my way to the next next busstop down the road, it started drizzling and i had to stop for a while in that bus stop. It was lucky i had a shelter to stay in, cos there were only a few shelters along my path so far :)
I took the time to rest, drink water and munch on the free peanut gratings that came with my rice balls! The rain stopped in 10 mins. So, the time wasn’t really wasted.
The road just after the light rain.
And then, i came to this Hort Park. I would have loved to explore this, but had to focus on my way home, so i just climbed up to get a few shots of the gorgeous bridge:
The lightning behind the clouds:
The cleaned up and shiny roads!
And i saw this SBS bus parked at a bus stop. Weird eh?
Anyway, the rain started again and i had to take shelter at that bus stop:
the bus being parked infront of me saved me from taxi drivers who would otherwise beep for me as they approached the bus stop. This happened several times during my previous wait.
After another 10 mins, the rain subsided and i set off again, only to come to a junction when the rain started getting heavy again. This time, there weren’t any shelter around and i didn’t have an umbrella too! But there was this wonderful tree which i stood under for about 15mins, till the rain subsided again. Surprisingly, the tree protected me quite well and i didn’t get too wet. My socks still felt dry. This junction is where cars go down to AYE. And yes, There were LOTS of taxi drivers beeping at me, But nooo! I don’t give in to temptations, even though i was tempted to just go back.
Below is the view of the rain from under the tree.
Above: The flyover at the junction
Below: Shots of AYE and railway track nearby
Walking on, i came across Alexandra hospital!
And… i wasn’t exactly sick, so went on! :D
And i came to this mcDonald’s Now who could resist THAT? So i decided to pop in and get something hot to throw down my throat..
But.. it was getting renovated :( So.. Closed :(
Anyway, i got this shot in the building: Spot the sleeping security guard below!
Moving on,
uh-uh, who needs a car when they have 2 wonderful FEET?
I came to the EW MRT line!
My first 7-11!! I didn’t go in though :P
Another artsy shot: And below is the above picture, cleaned
And i walked on and on…there was a little part in my head that told me that i was wayy off, but nvm.. i had this faint remembrance looking at Alexandra road leading upto farrer rd or sth, on google earth.
[[Well, it turns out that for that to happen, i should have turned at MAcdonalds or at least at the MRT line, which i didn’t :( ]]
Anyway, i walked on and on and on, passing through these :
Until, i came to this: I dun remember seeing this on my way back home, EVER !! Hmm, i must be seriously off!!
So, i got a Famous Amos Cookie bag from the petrol station and turned around :(
And headed down the Alexandra park connector which ran parellel to the path i had taken, so it was a less boring way to go back:
Above: Oh, look how encouraging it was! :P
Anyway, i took some lightning shots again: It was 4am at this moment.
And at the other end was tanglin road. Now this name reminded me of orchard and so, i guessed that it lead to orchard. Id din’t really want to go that way. So, i walked further back, hoping to see some sign board pointting to the likes of farrer/adam road. But uh-uh.. And furthermore, to my horror, i saw the MRT line again! I had walked all the way back!! :(
So, i decided that going onto Tanglin road is not a bad idea after all, since it can lead me to orchard, from where i can follow 105’s route back home. So, i walked all the way to tanglin road again.
And i found this: I guess this should be the place for housing the olympics participants!
And the following are more shots of tanglin road:
The familiar juction at orchard road at the end of Tanglin Road, where i was greeted by pretty flowers!
