Another new song on my playlist... The music video haven't been released yet; so:

Yesterday n today have been pretty much the same... Driving lesson in the morning till 10:15 and then trying to make sense of c++ and checking mail and updating stuff for the rest of the day. And oh ya.. i've been sleeping quite a lot too...

C++ bridging couse is going to start on the 2nd jan.. Can't believe that it's from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.. so late at night! Oh well... i know i'm gonna hard, so i'll just have to pop into nus after my driving lessons, have my lunch there and mug hard..
I changed my wall paper again! :)

Wednesday, December 26, 2007

oh gosh... i just saw my wonderful cap of 3.65... i'll have to work harder next sem. 20 more days. Ihaven't had much done over the trip as i was just busy and tired from travelling. So now, i'm gonna WORK :) you'll see...

w98!!

oh mans... this comp sucks... can't even check my NUS mail :( and they didn't even allow me to use usb stuff!! but i'm not in Bangalore now.. i now at my birth place, quite backward in technology. But from this experience, i can tell you this: the internet is quite restricted with windows 98 here. Or maybe it's just me..haha..
Oh well.. i'm writing my posts on my laptop here. I'll upload them when i get a better computer. I'll be travelling around a lot for the next 10 days. That's all, i guess :)

Sunday, December 9, 2007

i think i need a run... but... although my muscles have fully recovered from the marathon. it's gonna take quita along time for my bones to do so. So,i can't possibly run now. Another reason: hello? i'm supposed to be packing for my trip??haha...
hmm... i'm not going to have access to the internet in India as much as i do here. Mainly cos i'll be travelling around a lot. A real lot. In fact, the journey to my place is gonna start at 5am in Singapore and end off at 5pm the next day. gosh. 24hrs!! i'll hav to not-use-my-ipod for 4 hrs. That's simple. I'll need to sleep, right? haha...

Let me see.. I can't do much for cs1102c without a internet connection. But well, i can work on those ma1506 examples. And i really wanted to try out the sudoku thing on C but no.. i'll need internet for that. And i'll have to take a closer look at Prof Randy Pausch's lecture. It's really filled with a lot of lessons for life. You can watch it here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5700431505846055184

And.. do some re-reading of The Craft of Research. And.. i've got the MLE notes on my laptop to go through and summarise and squeeze into my brian. oh man... I SHALL HAVE RELAX MYSELF WITH SUDOKUS.

tata everyone!

I have an IPOD NANO!!! :) haha.. just bought it on friday. so cool, right ;) but it's 4gb. And till now, i've already occupied about 3 gb of it with all my songs, pictures and videos... It shall entertain me during my long jouneys.
Oh no.. haha... the engin modules' timetables are not out yet and i've my usp pre-allocation to do :( i ended up choosing a group that is least likely to clash with my engin modules - Human Relations (it's a level 2000 art module), mondays and thursdays, 6pm to 8pm. Whoa.. the first sem has been quite tough. I wouldn't want to suffer again this sem. SO, i'm going to make sure i'm all PREPARED for it :)

Tuesday, December 4, 2007

Yay! exams ended:) haha.. but my room is in a serious mess.. i've been sharing my bed with my a physics tb and notes:( time to get down to room-cleaning...oh ya.. b4 i forget, i'll be going to India on the 10th dec. should be back on 25th.

Sunday, December 2, 2007

One more marahon over:) But like last year, my legs and feet feel as if they had been run over by a car... The back and shoulder pains take more time to manifest; they are likely to set in after today's night sleep.
As for this year, the cramps started coming in at the 21st km.. quite early in the race.It was like, when i run, my leg muscles cramp and when i walk they feel a lot more painfull. And the cramps were there, even after 5 layers of deep heat cream. But for this year the organisation was near perfect. I think that the Shears Bridge run organisors can really learn a lot from this team... yup.. i'll elaborate more next time...

thermo quote

“Thermodynamics is a funny subject. The first time you go through it, you
don’t understand it at all. The second time you go through it, you think
you understand it, except for one or two points. The third time you go
through it, you know you don’t understand it, but by that time, you are so used
to the subject, it doesn’t bother you anymore. "

- Arnold Sommerfeld (a famous physicist)
oh ya.. here's a pic i found in NY connecxion's fickr account:

haha :) it was taken during teacher's day- i had to go off to Sentosa for a project stuff... btw, the dog's name is Hercules. eh.. As i figured out(fortunately not by experience), you'll understand it when he bites you...
Yesterday was cool.. it started with me deciding to go to school to study some physics early in the morning. But i ended up reading at about 1030... so, i tried to do some problems, but ended up deriving the MIs (ref to previous post). Yup.. then, i went for lunch, and got back to the library.. And met up with qiuhan and her frends @ biz. And studied physics till about 830pm... and then , as i was walking to the biz busstop, i saw my C-Language lecturer filing up his water bottle! Initially, i wanted to say hi to him, but he was facing the cooler.. so i just walked past. And then, somehow, after walking for some distance, i turned around and went back and greeted him. and guess what: I got a lift till Buona Vista! :) haha.. so cool! Ya.. then i took 105 from there... i didn't really take note of the time taken, but just felt that it was much faster..but ya.. it tends to get a bit crowded at the orchard area. No wornder there's always no seats when i try to transfer to it from 151(that's why i prefer transferring to 156 instead:) )

Thursday, November 29, 2007

wah.. haven't been blogging for almost a week.. haha.. somehow it doesn't seem so long to me...

I'm in CL now... mugging for physics and i've a great news to report! I just managed to derive the expression for the MI of a sphere! wah.. i've been trying to do it since JC times..but always ended up with funny expressions... haha.. but it was challenging, cos the method i used (i did single integration, not double) made me integrate cosine x to the power of 5... haha.. then i used reduction formula..

updates on Exams: EG1108.. kinda screwed up, but i'm having a positive outlook, since i thought i screwed up my mid term EG too and in the end...

MA1505.. ahhhaaa....had a good time. But form what i found out from mid term, the ppl in my cohort are quite good in maths. So, ya.. not expecting too much..

CS1101c: oh, erm.. as usual... God bless me :)

PC1431: mugging for it now... well.. actually going for luch. hope some canteen is open, or i'll have to settle for mac...

Friday, November 23, 2007

YaY! my mom let me go for Singapore Marathon!!! Can you believeit?? the whole thing only took like less than 5 mins lor.. Surprising! haha... It's time to gear up :)

LT-31

whoa.. today is quite a cool day! early morning went for CS revision lecture!! whoa.. first time i didn't feel sleepy at all! yes! throughout the 3 hours! gosh..he was super entertaining. And i really feel that i've finally understood pointers. The session was super usefull, as in it enables you to see the big picture of the module...

Then, went to gym with my friend.. and i ran 6.3km in 31 mins... that's slightly less than 2 mins per 400m lap...After that, i bathed, had a filling meal at Megabites and then i'm now here. At LT31 :) This is a superb place to study in!!!

oh ya.. another new song in my playlist... This one goes out to all my friends...

Monday, November 19, 2007

woohoo!! i just passed up my paper 3 for writing module!! that means that i now have 4 modules left to concentrate on for the rest of this semester. And i'm left with less than 2 weeks :)

I changed my desktop!! :) :

it's on vista, so the clock runs. haha.. cool, right? click on it for a bigger version!! v. cool :PpP
Just went to the writing centre.. It was just SO helpful!!! wow!! i think this is the best conference i've ever had... really makes me wanna go back again, for my future writing assignments. But this paper 3...i think i need to go there again leh.. 50 min was CLEARLY not enough. Well... i can' go there again today, since it's already closed... i would have made some changes and gone there agai, if they were open till 5pm... but ya. haha.. i'm asking too much... It's also fully booked on monday leh.. i've no lessons in the morning, so can chiong my essay till 5pm. oh mans...hope i won't screw up this paper...

uqr down:)

YaY!! haha.. half my stress is gone-ded now :) let me see.. i passed up my UQR term paper yesterday morning, although it seems to me that i passed it up way before... And.. i had my CS practical jus now, so that's over too. So, itinerary for this week's journey would include the physics tutorial to be done by tommoroow, and maths tutorial, also to be done by tommoroow and my uwc paper 3 to be done by monday, for which i need to come up with my writing centre draft by tmr, so that i can work on it during the weekend. yup.. that's about it. I really feel a lot better now ;) a lot a lot :)

effectively, i now have 5 modules, so, that's one down. And on monday, i'll be done with another one. YaY! so hapee... but i hope i get a decent grade for this semester.. i think my cs and uwc and uqr modules are going to pull it down. And my ma too, if i don't act fast enough to pull it up...

Thanks Qiuhan, Edwin, n others who 'kept me alive' for the week:)

Sunday, November 11, 2007

thought of this:
Which is the most flammable place in Singapore? Ans: Bukit Panjang (cos it is BP mah...)

Thanks Mich n Edwin, for your comments! :) This signifies the start of my uni friends tagging my blog yay! =D
I'n now working on my term paper for my transportation module. I feel like an MRT speeding down the track.

Friday, November 9, 2007

oh mans... i'm having a terrible time with all my 6 modules. Stayed up all night yesterday (had a 10-minute sleep at 5 to 510am) to do my Paper 3. And finally managed to pas it up today. Well, we could collect our paper 2 today. Should be hard for him as well, since he has had to mark, and look through our scripts and prepare for our conferences...Well, passing up my conference copy today was quite a relief. But i now have to concentrate on my trasportation module paper. 5000 words, by monday. And i'll be having the CS practical exam on wenesday, tfor which people would normally be mugging for during this weekend. Oh well... better luck to me next sem.

This is really beginning to feel like a marathon. I feel like giving in all that i have left, and try to achieve what i can...It's all gonna be over in less than a month ;)

Thursday, November 8, 2007

This is totally sick... Everyone's using these holidays to prepare for the upcoming cs practical and the exams.. and i'm here, stuck at my 2 term papers...great.

another thing... i wonder why i always seem to have other things at the time of uwc social gatherings... but this time, it's Mr Blair's lecture ;) well, i'll be equally glad/excited at both events.. guess i'll have to try for the next gathering, if he ever has one...

and yep, my usp modules wil be coming to an end, soon:)

for u ;)

Friends are friends forever together 'till the end.
You promised me that you would always be my friend.
One day something changed I'm not sure what it was.
I lost you on that day and the reason was because
it was a late dark night and we had a stupid fight.
And for some reason, I don't know why, we couldn't make it right.

We went our separate ways.
This went on for days and days.
I made new friends and you made yours,
but that hole in my heart could not be filled for that hole was only yours.
Times got really tough,
my road of life was, oh, so rough.
I needed friends, not the kind you see from day to day,
but the kind that will always and forever stay.
Memories were all I had
and Just the thought of them made me All sad.
I Cried every night wondering how to make it right.
I wish you could erase that day N that fight.
Would you please forgive me? I don't know where To start.
It Hurts me so bad to have this hole in my heart
I don't want our friendship to totally end.
I need you! You are my best friend!
So can we make a promise to stay together 'till the end?
A vow to each other to ALWAYS be BEST FRIENDS?

wishlist

All i ask for now:
well, just one thing:
To get a place in PGP.
and this will give me so much more time to run, time to work on my sch stuff...and just so much more...

enjoy while u can

This week is gonna be crazy. UQR final exm on 5th, and Presentation report due on 6th and Paper 3 draft copy due on 9th. Yes, that means that i won;t get to celebrate deepavali at all this year, like all the previous years, and that it's gonna be this way for the next ~ 4 years, till i graduate from university.. And to add to the wonderful list, i've a term paper due on 12 th Nov. And a killer practical exam on 14th Nov. For my dear peeps on JCs right now,(most probably coming on to a uni) i've this advice to give: enjoy yourselves, WHILE YOU CAN.

Saturday, November 3, 2007

Was just reading some of my friends' blogs.. destressing... haha... hew r a few parts of some posts which really 'moved' me:

No point concealing identities here, even if i want to, cos if you just google the phrases you're easily going to get what you want. so here:

From Gloria, I remember her as the cheerful n bubbly girl from OG12.

its yoga's bdae too!
HAPPY BDAE YOGA!
havent seen you for a while.
hope you are fine!=)

Gosh... this post really moved me.. Thanks lots Gloria...SO SO GLAD that you remembered my birthday, eventhough it was on your graduation day :) Really glad that you fitted in so well into the nyjc's culture. And that's one thing that really makes me proud of U :D

Qiuhan's blog:saw this ~2 days b4, i think... The video so cool!!! oh mans... really makes me wanna take business modules...

Friday, November 2, 2007

I feel dead right now. Absolutely dead. Like Bilbo says in the Fellowship of the Ring, I need a holiday. A very long holiday. Well, i guess this is one wonderful thing about holidays. You don't have holiday homeworks. well, at least i'm glad that my usp stuff will be ending by 16th nov, so that i can concentrate on the other subjects' final term exams.

revision of sleeping time again. for weekdays, i shall be less harsh on myself:) 2-3am :)

revision to sleeping

revised 'normal' sleeping times: weekdays: 3-4am weekends: undefined(nope, it's not good news)

unmi

I don't know how you feel about personality tests, but to me, most of them don't really seem to work. But i was just trying this thing and well (cos i know u tried it too..haha)... it's kinda true...haha..scary. The words in blue are my remarks..

Your view on yourself:You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are
friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and
fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you. okayz..sounds quite flattering, but yeah..okayz.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:You are a true
romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your
love true. hmm...shall keep my comments to myself=x but yeah.. it's true:)

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:You prefer to get to know a
person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship. YES. i NEEEDDDD to know the person super well. but it's not really before i decide to commit, more of before commiting.

The seriousness of your love:Your have very sensible tactics when
approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness
attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates. hahaz.. same here

Your views on educationYou may not like to study but you have many
practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart,
so you will probably end up with an unusual job. Sorry, but i love to study:) Maths rocks!;) but the instinct part is true and yes, i do tend to follow my heart, wich sometimes ends me up in odd situations.

The right job for you:You're a practical person and will choose a
secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find
a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life. ehh.. only future will tell. that's being practical, btw.

How do you view success:You are confident that you will be successful
in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying. YeS. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING CAN STOP ME.

What are you most afraid of:You are afraid of things that you cannot
control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.ehh... i'm not sure if i'm really afraid of the things i can't control, but yeah.. i do show my anger to cover up how i feel; but this is only to a very very few people in the world. in fact, only 2. I normally supress and dissolve my anger, if i ever do develop it...but this is really rare lah, cos i tend to blame myself for everything...

Who is your true self:You are full of energy and confidence. You are
unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might
occasionally be calm and still, but never for long. SUPER TRUE LAH...man, this is one survey which made me understand myself better...

Some follow up ones:
What is your most favorite pet?

DOG

The most favorite pet of all time is definitely the dog. Having a pet dog suggests that you are a friendly person who likes talking to people. You are outspoken and don't have any secrets or bias opinions. People like to be around you because you are sincere and loving. You don't like to say anything to hurt other people's feelings.

Rings on Fingers:

Wearing no rings

Wearing no rings at all suggests that you want to live a simple, no-frills life. You are sincere, trustworthy, peaceful, clever, hard-working and always want to learn new things. You tend to shy away from crowds and avoid conflict whenever you can.

Your Favorite Ice Cream Flavor

Chocolate chip:

You sincerely believe that everything around you is beautiful, even though other people may not notice. You are a determined person and set high goals for your life.

oh mans... Super tired n DEAD... Was just thinking about this: When in JC, you think about why you didn't enjoy your times in secondary sch, cos those times were so light n slack!!and when you are in uni, you wonder why you didn't enjoy the times in JC, you were so slack in those times!! Well, and just when you are in Jc speculating on or reading all these, you just wonder how you're supposed to enjoy your time. Well, all i have to say now is this: In JC, i barely had any sleepless nights JUST because of homeworks or assignments. But now, i'm like having 1-2 sleepless nights per week. And the worst part is that i don't think it's just for this sem. It's gonna be like this for every sem. or worse. and i've almost no time to run here.. wish i live in PGP. should just have taken it up while i could...

:)

it was just for 2 days mans... so sudden that i still pondering over the reality of it... think i should start blogging in my private blog ald...

guess this has to be my first solution, without approximations:)

Monday, October 15, 2007

the previous post was posted when i was in central lib. now,i'm home. Guess what i did: i dropped by ny to run ;)

busybusy...

i've been typing away like crazy since the start of today, so might as well type a blog post. Today was one of the most hectic day of my life. Rushed to school, good thign it was conference week for my UWC module, so that i has 2 hrs extra to catch up on the other stuff in the morning. reached school at 8 and rushed to central lib to get some spreadsheets for my UQR module. Then, i had 2 hrs of UQR, the most relaxing time of the day. But still, i was typing like crazy, like i'm doing now. Then, had 1hr break, but chose to go down earlier to Lt 7A to do my Paper 2 stuff. My conferencing draft was due at 5pm today and i had a writing centre appoinment at 4pm. AND i had to pass up my lab report by 5.
The conferencing draft... no prob, it can be done in time. The real trouble giver was the lab report for the heat engine experiment. The values that i've got from my practical directly contradict theory knowledge. And it's not just me alone, but some of my friends experienced it too...just can't seem to explain it... Well, finally, i managed to come up with one that did seem to make some sense. but there was not really enough time to write the entire idea. SO, i just had to settle for mentioning a gist of it and hoping that the rest of it will end up fine. Well, that took a lot of time for me to clarify with those around me, and also to get my lab partner's lab report to get a gist of what he did... The lecture was supposed to end at 4, but by some miracle,it ended at 3:35. So, unknowingly, i stepped on the internal shuttle bus to got to the sci fac to finish, print and pass up my lab report. But it was only when i reached the lab that i realised that my writing centre appt was going to start in 10 mins time. SO, i had to stop and get back to the central lib, print my essay, and rush over to BLK ADM for the appt. Well, i had an hour of meaningful session of planning how i'm going to re-write my paper 2. (in other words, i had to re-write it). But really, as always, going to the wring centre is really usefull.
Then, i had to fill up the self-appraisal form and submit my essay for conferencing. Immediately after that, i went up to the USP comp lab to complete and print my lab report. then, had to go over to the sci fac to pass it up. Phew...

C'monz, it's just the start of the week...there's a lot more to come...

Yay! exams are over... but the busy period has just begun... Must start working on my UQR term paper and also need to pull up some of my subjects...
tmr... well, let me put it this way... need to prepare for my tutorials...

Monday, October 8, 2007

Thursday, October 4, 2007

wah.. super super busy... got 3 mid term tests coming up...and have to do my paper 2, either a comparative or lens analysis of 2 texts... quite stressed. don't think i'll get to run soon too:(

Friday, September 28, 2007

yay! i finally got down to adjusting the time zone of my posts. Now, i'm still left with building up the links and repairing the stat counter. The funny thing is that when i go to the statocounter site, it does tell me the stats, but for some reason, it doesn't display on my blog...oh ya... i'm now at central lib... yet to go off for my fieldtrip:P

frontier

today i ate at the frontier(since i'm at LT31, yes, i blogging from here.) and guess what: The auntie recognised me!!! She was like "How are you?" and well, i could have added that i'm an engin kid (and that's why i don't eat there often) but nah.. dunno why i didn't. Maybe i was too taken aback or something....
I had a similiar incident at NTU too, when i went there for the Materials Science and engineering challenge.

14.19

I was mugging at the central lib on monday and tuesday, with Pradeep ad his friend. Now, i've changed location to near the LT31. If u're wondering where it is,it's @ sci fac. If u're wondering how i knew this place, well, i came here once for a public lecture on some maths topic and found that this place was quite conducive and quiet:)
oh ya... i went running on Monday. Think my plan needs a little amendment, cos i need some time to recover between runs. So for now,i'll be running every monday...

19.ipod

WoW! did you hear about the new ipod nano?? now it's TOTALLY revamped!!! But although the IT coop has ordered it, it hasn't been shipped yet... Maybe i'll get it after my exams.hmm...

Anyone mugging during the holidays? i'm thinking of going to NUS, central lib everyday... yup, starting form tomorrow, i'll be there when it opens. discipline...

Well, speaking of discipline, i've been thinking about running lately. There was once, several weeks ago, when i managed to go down to ny to run. Well, since it has been proven to be feasible, i'll be trying it for this week. Should be training, instead of recreational, cos i'll be doing a 19km around the 2nd week of October:D

Singapore marathon 0

I really need to blog about this thing that i notice every day on my mrt trip. What i normally do is to take the NEL to Outram Park, from where i head to Buona Vista. Well, it's kinda long, but it's that fastest way in the morning. Now here's the funny part:
After the train stops at China town( the stop just before Outram Park), and the 'Door Closing' announcement is aired, the quite a significant number of people(inside the train) will just 'chiong' towards the door. Guess why: To 'chiong' out when the door opens at Outram Park. And when it does, well, let me put it this way. Today, when i was transferring to the EW line from NEL at Outram Park, i felt as if i was part of Signapore Marathon. AND I'm NOT kidding. Well, i myself was walking at quite a fast pace, and there were like 6 people just running off.

long time no blog

My 'brain' is a lot lighter now... My sentosa presentation is over!!! I still have a term paper to do for that one, to achieve the status of brin ' half way through'.
Well, the rest... i should be done with my essay by next monday, after which i should be 'chionging' for the rest of my modules. oh yup,i realise that i don't normally blog much about my life here. well, there may be bits and pieces here and there, but still...
Maybe it's got to do with the fact that it's published. MAybe i'll start to have a new 'secret' blog. umm... yup ,that should work. but my only concern here is that this one would be 'neglected' by me, or that this one would be too boring to read (can imagine someone saying BUT THAT"S NOT THE POINT!!!)... well, see how lor... tutorials:still at the same pace as the lesons:(

well, i met Shun Gui and a few others @ below the central library today... Didn't really get to talk with them, since i was in a rush to complete my essay just in time for the writing center. It was really a coincidence, since i was pasisng by his blog yesterday.hmmm...Oh, ya.. the writing center is really usefull.. USP people, if you're reading this, you should just try it once. It's really enriching and enlightening.

updates

some more updates:

i'm supposed to say this a long time ago,but here goes:
I, Yogaprakash hereby declare that, as of 25th august 2007, that i've fully recovered from the Singapore Bay Run.

Oh yup, i had yet another interesting adventure with the bus 95 yesterday, but no time to blog about it now, have to do my tutorials:) I also discovered that it loops...(didn't know that before...)

If you see me around, ask me for SENTOSA PICS!!!:)

last but not least in this urgency,:

ESSAY(draft) DONE!!!

My mind is sooo much relaxed after completing my essay.. hope it's not irrelavant or anything, or i'll have to redo it again:(

So, it that's okay, then there'll be 2 more essays(~900 words each) for this module and 2 term papers(2000-5000words each) left. Now, it's time to concentrate on other tutorials...

p.s. hav to say tt i kinda enjoyed doing the essay. the thing that makes me feel uneasy is the fact that I HAVE TO DO AN ESSAY and not actually doing it...hmm...

things to do...

-24 emails crying for my attention
-Tutorials
-preparation for lab session tmr
-essay paper due on coming tuesday
-Term paper
-READINGS (there's this saying that in uni, there's something wrong with you if you actually understand your readings...)

[and the list GOES ON>]

Quote of the day: "But cosine inverse of that expression can also give you -85.2 degrees..."

my dear modules...

this one's about my modules:

CS1101C(on c-language programming)
well, looks kinda easy, cos i've already done about80% of it. But i'll still need to do some work and take in more concepts and of course, practise more! and it's a great thing that our lab sessions are not graded for this. Lectures are fun. The tutorials are er... er... (u know what i mean)

MA1505( on calculus)
ya.. this one rocks... The tutorials are quite fun to do. They've posted 10 chapters of tutorials and lecture slides. So it's like Own Time Own Target kinda thing... Fun! Lectures are slow, but it should be catching up soon,i hope.

EG1108(On circuits n stuff)
Well, this one module that's kinda going fast now, like a bullet train...I'm just catching up...

UQR2310(Transprtation planning in Singapore)
MY SENTOSA 07 GROUP ROCKS!! They's one main reason why i'm enjoying this module. It's quite light too... The professor has reduced the load by 33.3333%. Hope i survive this one...

UWC2101S (Writing and critical thinking on Danger and National Security)
well, let me put it this way: God bless me.

PC1431
ah...this one really puts me in heaven. had my first tutorial today, and my tutor is well, er... he looks kinda young.yup... The lecturer is cool, he shows us you-tube videos every lecture. cool, right? here's one:

Lyrics:
Lyrics
Your attention please! Now, I'm afraid,
we'll be departing from our standard procedure today.
I'm a straight-up geek; science is my trade
(perhaps that's why I've never been ___)...

But I've got wit like a razor blade,
and I'm down to plug a hole in my daily grade,
so be sure that close attention is paid,
'cause this ___ ain't gonna be replayed.

Lemme tell y'all bout a field that gets me going.
It's hip like a thong, and it's fly like a Boeing!
It's super-scientific and it's semi-pseudo-mystical,
so now it's time... to get physical!

So, here's the story from alpha to zeta,
eta, theta, iota to omega.
If you got a quantity to quantify,
it sounds cooler in Greek... don't ask me why!

More important, though, the concepts that underly
the situation or the problem to which they apply;
the fundamentals fascinate me, I can't deny,
and that's exactly why... I'm a physics guy.

Nuclear, atomic and molecular physics
tell us what we're made of, and more than just the basics.
Astronomy looks into the universe,
and whether the Big Bang could kick into reverse.

Acoustics: it's the science of sound.
Geophysics makes the world go round.
Statistical mechanics, now there's something profound!
Kinematics tells you when you're gonna hit the ground.

Electromagnetism makes for damn cool trains.
Fluid dynamics powers our airplanes.
Element'ry particle physics says neutrinos exist.
Mathematical physics keeps Wolfram in business.

Solid state physics brought us transistors.
Electrodynamics is more than playing with resistors.
Thermodynamics tells us all about heat.
Plasma physics is also pretty neat!

Optics looks into the behavior of light.
Damn, this field is broad, all right!
As studies go, physics is hella tight!
Better get used to staying up all night...

but you don't gotta be cool, or exceptionally brainy,
'cause it's all universally awesome, like Amy.
Drop the straight jacket – ain't gonna restrain me,
'cause physics gets me positively crazy!

So, here's the story from alpha to zeta,
eta, theta, iota to omega.
If you got a quantity to quantify,
it sounds cooler in Greek... don't ask me why!

More important, though, the concepts that underly
the situation or the problem to which they apply;
the fundamentals fascinate me, I can't deny,
and that's exactly why... I'm a physics guy.

Now get ready to yell 'til your voice gets hoarse!
Neglect the effect of gravitational force,
and get your hands in the air – now you got the notion,
so come on, let me see some oscillatory motion!

One more time, from alpha to zeta,
eta, theta, iota to omega.
If you got a quantity to quantify,
it sounds cooler in Greek... don't ask me why!

More important, though, the concepts that underly
the situation or the problem to which they apply;
the fundamentals fascinate me, I can't deny,
and that's exactly why I'm a physics guy.

Yes, that was the story from alpha to zeta,
eta, theta, iota to omega.
If you got a quantity to quantify,
it sounds cooler in Greek... don't ask me why!

More important, though, the concepts that underly
the situation or the problem to which they apply;
the fundamentals fascinate me, I can't deny,
and that's exactly why... I'm a physics guy!

PC1431(continued)
I took this to raise my CAP, basically, since i've learnt most of the stuff in nyjc...:)

imeem

I signed up for imeem! haha... here: i've been listening to this one repeatedly since about 2 days ago...

Army half marathon

Summary:
Disance:21km
timing:2h9mins
target:2h20mins
my best so far:2h23mins

This one was a furious run-right from the start. I don't really know why, but i somehow felt that i had to perform well.somehow...So, i chionged from the start. Well, the run itself was very well organised, with the road closures and everything. I felt very-much 'pampered' with all those isotonic drinks, the water and of course, the bananas. This is rare, but, i didn't really feel dehydrated at any part of the run.Oh ya... i've a statement to make:
oh man.. i'm disappointed lor...i was so fast that i didn't get to see the sunrise at eastcoast. :(

Oh yep... the baggage collection was screwed. Lukily i joined the queue earlier. I had to wait for about 30mins for my turn. But when i left the queue, it was like 10 times longer than it was when i joined it...

I met REN JIE!!! haha...dunno why he joined the non-competitive category lor... And he didn't have a stop watch. Legend.

One more thing that i forgot to blog about:
I was going back to to ny from nus on friday. guess whom i saw on the 156 bus: Hong Quan!!! He boarded the bus at the rj stop...He was walking past my seat, while i was like 'ayeee!??!' and he was like'ayeee!?!'. And yep.. we updated each other on the happenings... see you!

Why did a guy get killed by his laptop?

Ans: Cos he didn't notice that it was charging :)

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Just a few interesting events... Yesterday, i got off Buona Vista MRT and was attempting to take 95, despite being turned down by what happened back on thursday (had to wait 30mins for it:()
So, i got to the other side of the road by the overhead brisge and made my way to the busstop that comes before the moe busstop(doesn't really matter, since they're of about the same dist.) But when i took the right turn, guess what i saw... 95. Wow. What a wonderful world...
And guess what i did... I turned around and took off. The people looking at me must have thought i've seen a ghost or something but ya.. i was trying to catch it at the MOe bus stop...
And of course, after some time, i did get to the bus stop. Again, guess what... 95 was no where to be seen!
And i had to wait several seconds before i saw it turning in..poor thing.. must have been stuck before the pedestrian crossing.. hahah (i'm also a poor thing lor.. could have just walked to the busstop...)

Run NUS

Summary: my timing:55mins for 10km.(my target was to go below 1h) I went for the competitive 10km category. I felt v. lazy in the morning and thought i was almost late, since registration begins at 8. I got there at 8:20. But anyway, i later found out that the run only starts at 9:40. So, it did and we were off!! The terrain was the worst you can possibly imagine.. steep 60degrees upslopes and downslopes, staircases. In fact, most of the route is either up-slope or downslope. And of course, by Kirchoff's 2nd law, we can deduce that height gained= height lost, since we started and ended off at the same point. I think we started off too fast since there was a down slope slightly after the start. For me, i started to walk at baout the 3km mark, since i was tired and thirsty. But after the water point, i started to run again.Later, i was joined by this guy, who seemed to run at about the same pace as me. We met at about the 3.5km mark and ran beside each other till the finish line! Unbelievable, right?ya.. true.. it's very difficult to find someone who runs at the same speed as you during a race. Initially, i thought that i'ld surely at the back because of 2 reasons: 1. There weren't that many runners 2. Most of the others were older than me by atleast 2 years:( But finally, i managed to finish before 1h; my timing was 55mins. I'm quite surprised, cos this is my best 10km timing.

Do i have time to blog? NO. NOT NOW:(

yiy

I love recursive stuff!! here's one: YIY(stands for Yoga Is Yoga). So cool... And i went running today, at nyjc. 6 rounds. haha.. my standard has dropped a lot... i ran 4 rounds (6min 47secs), took a break and did another 2 rounds(3min 26sec). But i probably pushed myself, since my leg feels kinda wobbly now. I'm thinking of staying in campus; can't stand the long bus journeys. (which reminds me of a discovery that i made::) Taking 156 and 151 to NUS in the morning from my home takes about 1h25mins, mainly due to the heavy traffic jams along the way. But on the way back, the same journey only takes ~59mins. So, i'll be taking the MRT in the mornings, i guess. But as mentioned in the "My First Book" that i received during the matriculation fair, "... If miss a 95 bus, you're as good as dead..." Hmm... Very true.

P.S the writing thing is baking my noodles now...Well it's sort of comforting to note that i'm not alone:)

13th Aug 07

super-busy now.. Uni life is truly interesting... but busy busy.. just one thing: i met a exchange student from germany over lunce at technoedge...

And yes, i'll add that tag board very soon. After finishing my writing assignment.
