Run NUS
Summary: my timing:55mins for 10km.(my target was to go below 1h) I went for the competitive 10km category. I felt v. lazy in the morning and thought i was almost late, since registration begins at 8. I got there at 8:20. But anyway, i later found out that the run only starts at 9:40. So, it did and we were off!! The terrain was the worst you can possibly imagine.. steep 60degrees upslopes and downslopes, staircases. In fact, most of the route is either up-slope or downslope. And of course, by Kirchoff's 2nd law, we can deduce that height gained= height lost, since we started and ended off at the same point. I think we started off too fast since there was a down slope slightly after the start. For me, i started to walk at baout the 3km mark, since i was tired and thirsty. But after the water point, i started to run again.Later, i was joined by this guy, who seemed to run at about the same pace as me. We met at about the 3.5km mark and ran beside each other till the finish line! Unbelievable, right?ya.. true.. it's very difficult to find someone who runs at the same speed as you during a race. Initially, i thought that i'ld surely at the back because of 2 reasons: 1. There weren't that many runners 2. Most of the others were older than me by atleast 2 years:( But finally, i managed to finish before 1h; my timing was 55mins. I'm quite surprised, cos this is my best 10km timing.
